How to Commission an Original Painting from Cloud Kent

That is how I approach every commission I take. Not as a transaction — as a collaboration. You bring me what matters to you, what you want the work to carry, what energy you want living on that wall. I bring everything I have: thirty-plus years of making art, a life that has tested itself at the highest possible levels, and a connection to something that I believe makes every piece more than paint on canvas.

What Kind of Commissions Cloud Kent Takes

Original paintings — The most intimate commission. A 1-of-1 work made entirely for you, responding to your space, your story, your vision. Every brushstroke deliberate. Every element with intention.

Large-scale murals — For businesses, restaurants, hotels, churches, medical centers, and any space that wants art that commands the room. A Cloud Kent mural does not blend in. It anchors the entire energy of the space it occupies.

Live art events — Cloud Kent creates in front of audiences at gallery openings, corporate events, conferences, and private celebrations. The painting becomes part of the event. The process is the performance.

The Commission Process

Step 1: The Conversation. It starts with an email to cloudkentstudios@gmail.com. Tell me about the space, the vision, the feeling you want the work to create. Include the dimensions you are working with and any reference points that feel relevant. There is no wrong way to start this conversation.

Step 2: The Proposal. Based on the conversation, I come back with a direction, a timeline, and a quote. Every commission is different, so the proposal is specific to what you are asking for.

Step 3: The Work. Once we agree on terms, the work begins. I keep you informed throughout the process — you will know what is happening in the studio.

Step 4: Delivery. Original paintings are professionally packaged and shipped with a Certificate of Authenticity documenting the work, the story behind it, and its provenance. Murals are executed on-site by appointment.

What a Commission Costs

Commission pricing is based on size, medium, and scope. As a general reference:

Original paintings on canvas: Starting at $2,000 for smaller works, scaling with size and complexity. Large statement pieces range from $5,000 to $15,000+.

Large-scale murals: Starting at $5,000 for smaller wall spaces. Major installations and multi-wall projects range from $15,000 to $50,000+.

Live art events: Starting at $3,000 for private events. Corporate and large-scale performances priced on scope.

Every commission includes a Certificate of Authenticity and direct correspondence with the artist throughout the process.
